Purposes and legal bases
Enquiries and applications are used to handle your request and the assessment you ask for, as a precontractual step at your request and in AABAN's legitimate interest in selecting projects for its investor members. The assessment includes AI analysis and, where the project fits, presentation to AABAN's investor members: both are part of the service you request by applying. Marketing is optional, relies on your consent and can be withdrawn at any time.
Artificial intelligence assessment
AngelAdvisor processes application data and extracted deck text using OpenAI and may search the web to check information. It assesses team, market, product, traction, business model, competition and funding fit, producing scores, an internal report and a feedback report sent to the applicant. The score acts as a first screen: projects above the threshold are reviewed by the AABAN team and may be presented to investor members; the rest are not reviewed by a person by default. The feedback report is sent to every applicant alike and does not communicate a score or an admission decision. You may at any time ask for a person to review your application, express your position and correct errors at info@aaban.org.
Data and recipients
We process contact details, profile, message, company and financial project data and submitted documents. Avoid sensitive data, identity documents and unnecessary personal information. Only include necessary third-party data and comply with your information duties. Authorized AABAN staff and necessary hosting, email and analysis providers may access the data. The automated analysis uses OpenAI and Google Cloud services. Projects that pass the first screen may be disclosed to AABAN investor members to assess a potential investment.
Providers and transfers
External services may involve processing outside the European Economic Area. Accepting this policy is not blanket consent to international transfers or a substitute for GDPR safeguards. Contact info@aaban.org for information about providers and applicable safeguards.
Retention
Data are retained as necessary to handle your request and, where applicable, legal obligations or claims. Rejection does not itself immediately erase every copy: administrative records, email and backups may remain. You may ask about specific retention and request erasure; applicable legal exceptions or restrictions will be explained. Marketing permissions remain until withdrawn.
Your rights
Contact info@aaban.org for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability where applicable, withdrawal of marketing consent or review by a person. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. You may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency at www.aepd.es.
